Bug#404736: xchat-gnome: Messes with PRIMARY clipboard

Erich Schubert-2
Package: xchat-gnome
Version: 1:0.13-1+b1
Severity: normal

Hi,
The one thing which annoys me most with xchat-gnome is that it messes
with my PRIMARY clipboard (i.e. the middle-mouse-button copy buffer).
I'm used to being able to select some text or an URL and copy it to
other applications using the middle mouse button, but this doesn't work
with xchat-gnome, which the usually pastes something I last selected in
xchat-gnome. I havn't found a consistent way when this is happening,
because it does work usually. But I'm only ever seeing it in xchat, and
there I'm bitten by it quite often.

Maybe the new upstream fixes this?

There's a new upstream sitting in the pkg-gnome svn since late
November, I'll re-ask for the upload to experimental ( it depends on gtk
2.10 ) again !

Ciao

... which conflicts with libwmf, which in turn is required by several
popular applications like koffice, gimp and others.
I'd of course help testing it, but the gnome stuff in experimental is
uninstallable for me.

best regards,
