Bug#695945: quik-installer returns error during debian-installer

Ed Swierk
Package: quik-installer
Version: 0.0.30
Severity: normal
Tags: d-i

I'm installing wheezy on an emulated PowerPC machine (qemu-system-ppc
1.2.1, g3beige hardware) from debian-wheezy-DI-b4-powerpc-netinst.iso.
Everything in d-i goes fine until the "Install quik on a hard disk"
step, which fails with an error.  But if I choose "Continue without a
bootloader" and bypass the scary warning about an unbootable system,
the machine boots just fine.  So apparently the error is spurious.

Possibly relevant excerpt from /var/log/installer/syslog:

Bug#695945: quik-installer returns error during debian-installer

Cyril Brulebois-4
Hi Ed,

and thanks for your report.

Adding debian-powerpc@ to the loop, in case somebody there can shed
some light. Not sure when I'll be able to play with qemu+powerpc.

Bug#695945: quik-installer returns error during debian-installer

Risto Suominen
Hi,

> Ed Swierk <[hidden email]> (14/12/2012):
>> Dec 14 02:17:16 main-menu[190]: (process:1505): ofpath: Driver pata_macio

If this is the reason for the failure, then it's probably harmless. My
memory tells me that oldworld booting didn't need any OF path
parameters to be set. Thus, there would be no need to run ofpath.

Risto
