Bug#760369: ircd-irc2: Installation/Upgrade fails and hangs

Joey Schulze
Package: ircd-irc2
Version: 2.11.2p3~dfsg-2
Severity: normal

Did a dist-upgrade, which hung during installation of ircd-irc2
2.11.2p3~dfsg-1.  I cancelled the installation with ^C and kill -9 of
several processes.   Today I retried to discover the source of the
problem.  In the meantime 2.11.2p3~dfsg-2 appeared with the same
problem.

Here's the output of "dpkg --configure -a":

# dpkg --configure -a
Setting up ircd-irc2 (2.11.2p3~dfsg-2) ...
grep: ^[PM]:: No such file or directory
/etc/ircd/ircd.conf:A:This is Debian's default ircd configurations:Please edit your /etc/ircd/ircd.conf file:Contact <root@localhost> for questions::ExampleNet
insserv: warning: current stop runlevel(s) (0 1 6) of script `ircd-irc2' overrides LSB defaults (empty).
Starting irc server daemon: ircdWarning: Network name is not set in ircd.conf
Server irc.localhost (000A) version 2.11.2p3 starting.

^Cdpkg: error processing package ircd-irc2 (--configure):
subprocess installed post-installation script was interrupted
Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.19-10) ...
Errors were encountered while processing:
 ircd-irc2

There was an IRC daemon running before.  However, I assume it was a
different package.  The timestamp of the configuration file
/etc/ircd/ircd.conf assumes that it was recently installed by the new
package.
