Bug#863875: linux-image-4.11.xx-kirkwood: sata_mv.ko for kirkwood-SoC does no longer work starting from linux 4.11

Manuel Roeder
Package: linux-image-4.11.xx-kirkwood
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

*** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate ***

   * What led up to the situation?
     Build a new kernel(Base linux 4.11) with debian-patches(git)
     Build a new initial ramdisk
     Flashed both
   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?
     Effective: Copied linux-4.10.17/drivers/ata/sata_mv.c to linux-4.11.3/drivers/ata/sata_mv.c
                Build new kernel 4.11.xx
                Build new initial ramdisk
                flashed both
Ineffective: Checking and changing kernel-config for build
   * What was the outcome of this action?
After building the new modified kernel QNAP TS219P worked again
   * What outcome did you expect instead?

What about 4.15 from unstable?  Is that working for you?

Which Kirkwood platform are you on?

Hi Manuel,

You never provided more information for this bug report.  I assume
things are working fine now?
