Bug#866073: bioperl: autopkgtest regression

Graham Inggs-3
Source: bioperl
Version: 1.7.1-2

Hi Maintainer

Autopgktests for bioperl started failing on 2017-06-19 [1].  This is
close to the upload of perl 5.24.1-4, in case it is relevant.

Regards
Graham

Bug#866073: bioperl: autopkgtest regression

Andreas Tille-2
Control: tags -1 help

Hi,

I admit I need help of the Debian Perl team to tackle this.  The issue
persists also in the new version 1.7.2 of bioperl.  Any help would be
welcome.

Kind regards

     Andreas.

More likely libmodule-build-perl_0.422400-1 given the test log says

  Can't find 'build_params' in _build at /usr/share/perl5/Module/Build/Base.pm line 1291.

Sorry, no fix atm but maybe this helps a bit.

Or the pkg-perl-autopkgtest upload which started to run tests in t/
recursively.

Interestingly, the tests pass during build and only fail during
autopkgtest. -- Maybe Modul::Build is the relevant part after all
(running Build.PL would be a difference between the two runs.)

Ok, with running `perl Build.PL' before the smoke tests we're down to
one probably unrelated failure. -- Ah, yet another file needed.

* end of monlogue *

Fixes pushed to git.

Cheers,
gregor

Concerning the bug: yes.
I guess you want to bump the Standards-Version, and I totally leave
the further lintian warnings to your discretion :)

Bumping Standards-Version is done now, I also added a secure URI in
watch file (what I always wanted to ask - is this the canonical location
of CPAN?), but I'll leave spelling issues in this case (not always) for
volunteers.

Thanks again

       Andreas.

We usually use https://metacpan.org/release/BioPerl in
d/watch,copyright,control,upstream/metadata as the upstream URL --
ah, that's what you've used in d/watch now, perfect :)
