Bug#922200: courier-imap: /usr/bin/mkdir is invoked directly, failing on non-usrmerge'd systems

Julian Calaby
Package: courier-imap
Version: 5.0.5+1.0.5-2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

/usr/lib/courier/imapd and /usr/lib/courier/imapd-ssl invoke /usr/bin/mkdir
which doesn't exist on non-usrmerge'd systems, rendering the package unusable.

My understanding is that mkdir is a sufficiently low-level binary that it can
be invoked without a full path like chown, touch and chgrp.

Thanks,

Julian Calaby

Bug#922200: Affects courier-mta, too

Michael Wallner
This also affects courier-mta:

root@mx:~# grep /mkdir -IFR /usr/lib/courier
/usr/lib/courier/imapd-ssl:        /usr/bin/mkdir -p `dirname
$SSLPIDFILE` ; \
/usr/lib/courier/imapd:        /usr/bin/mkdir -p `dirname $PIDFILE` ; \
/usr/lib/courier/esmtpd:/usr/bin/mkdir -p `dirname $PIDFILE`
/usr/lib/courier/esmtpd-ssl:/usr/bin/mkdir -p `dirname $SSLPIDFILE`
