Bug#923288: kmail does not exit

Juha Jäykkä
Package: kmail
Version: 4:18.08.3-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

kmail randomly refuses to exit. Upon closing the window or choosing to quit from
the menu, the window disappears, but the process lingers and will not exit until
given a TERM or KILL. Trying to start a new copy does nothing (presumably because
the old copy is still alive).

Cheers,
Juha

Bug#923288: kmail does not exit

Sandro Knauß-5
Control: tags -1 +moreinfo

Hey Juha,

thanks for giving input about the current state of kmail. Unfortunately these
are not enough information to tackle down the issue. Enable logging for Qt:

~/.config/QtProject/qtlogging.ini
[Rules]
*.warning=true
*.critical=true
*=true
qt.*=false
sonnet.*=false

and start kmail form a konsole. That may gives us the needed information.
After the debug session replace *=true with *=false otherwise your .xsessions-
errors will get big very soon.

is Ctrl+C in konsole enough to stop kmail in that situation?
