Bug#939427: O: rsnapshot -- local and remote filesystem snapshot utility

Guillaume Delacour-2
Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA256

I intend to orphan the rsnapshot package.

The package description is:
rsnapshot is an rsync-based filesystem snapshot utility. It can take
incremental backups of local and remote filesystems for any number of
machines. rsnapshot makes extensive use of hard links, so disk space is
 only used when absolutely necessary.

Bug#939427: O: rsnapshot -- local and remote filesystem snapshot utility

Gabriel F. T. Gomes-4
Hi, I would like to adopt it.

Have you had any problems with it that you would like to share with the
future maintainer?

Cheers,
Gabriel

Bug#939427: Plan To Adopt

Michael Lustfield
In reply to this post by Guillaume Delacour-2
I don't see anything to indicate any problems with upstream. This appears to
just be one of many packages that gui orphaned.

I have a personal interest in this package and plan to adopt it.

Bug#939427: rsnapshot adoption

In reply to this post by Guillaume Delacour-2
Gabriel,

Apologies- I missed your first line.

I finished with a fair bit of packaging clean up and officially adopted
rsnapshot. I'd be happy to co-maintain this package.

The packaging itself seems to be pretty straight-forward and easy to maintain.

I talked a little bit with upstream and they seemed very friendly and easy to
work with. Unfortunately, they're definitely lacking some manpower, which is
why rsnapshot hasn't seen a new release in a long time.

If you, or anyone else, are interested in helping with packaging or
(preferably) upstream, please let me know and I'll share some more details.

Cheers,

No problem, at all. :)

Awesome.  I'm happy it has a new maintainer!
I'll send bug reports and patches if I stumble upon anything.

I don't have anything to add for now, I just didn't want to see it go
away.  It's good software.  :)

Thanks for adopting rsnapshot! <3

Cheers,
Gabriel
