Re: fannj: FTBFS in buster/sid

Andreas Tille-5
Hi again,

Daniel, if I do not hear from you I assume you agree that I inject
fannj into Debian Science Git and do a team upload.

Kind regards

      Andreas.

As I said I assumed agreement and have moved fannj to Salsa[1].
Unfortunately the build is not only failing for the docs when I try to
build it is just doing nothing in override_jh_build.

I'd appreciate any helpful hint from the Java team to finalise
a fix for this package.

Kind regards

       Andreas.

Potential bug in jh_build (Was: fannj: FTBFS in buster/sid)

Andreas Tille-5
Hi,

I'd like to make some noise again about this issue.  I'm concerned
about the fact that

    jh_build --javadoc-opts='-link /usr/share/doc/default-jdk-doc/api'

was creating a JAR file until some point in time but it does not
any more.  Is this a bug in jh_build?

Kind regards

      Andreas.

Is anybody able to reproduce this issue (help urgently needed) (Was: Potential bug in jh_build (Was: fannj: FTBFS in buster/sid))

Andreas Tille-5
Hi folks,

may be its a busy time right now but I'd like to salvage fannj and as I
wrote last week I suspect there might be an issue in jh_build that used
to build a proper JAR before but stoped doing so.  Is anybody able to
reproduce that issue or is it just me?

Kind regards

      Andreas.

There was a bug in javatools which was fixed by Niels a few days ago:

https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=927676

Could it be related?

(I'm going to build fannj again in sid to find out)
(I've also just retriggered rebuilds in reproducible-builds)

Thanks.

The FTBFS still happens in both my autobuilders and
reproducible-builds in sid.

I also believe it is an issue in jh_build, as I have a successful
build in 2019-01-10 and a failed build in 2019-01-21 for the same
version of fannj.

If this is one of those weird bugs which only happen in
reproducible-builds and/or my autobuilders, please contact me
privately and I will gladly offer ssh access to a test machine.

Thanks.

Yes I can reproduce this bug. It is the very same I had for mac-widgets
[1], and was said to be a Java toolchain bug [2] but not reported
IFAICT.
You can workaround this by not linking default-jdk-doc during the
jh_build step. I.e. you can drop the override_jh_build rule.
