consultants vs jobs

Raphaël Hertzog-3
Hi,

I was wondering what would be the proper place to seek for
freelance/contractors.

Is [hidden email] the good list or is it mainly
for employment offers / long term freelance relationship?

Are all consultants subscribed here also subscribed to
[hidden email]?

I'm putting Martin Michlmayr in copy to have his input. I know I used
debian-jobs a few times already to try to look for partners but it has
not been very effective in general.

Would people object if we started using debian-consultants to publish
work offers targetting Debian freelancers?

Cheers,

well, Google is picking on the consultants list, and then searching for their background :-P

I think this would be a good idea, because most of the listed persons here are freelancers...? :-)

Greetings

Alex

Beats me. I usually use LUG and project mailing lists to find
partners/contractors.

Didn't even know it existed - thanks for that.

For what it's worth - I don't mind, I think it's a great idea -
especially if it's cross-posted to the debian-jobs list.

Actually they/she (cough m.s. cough) look at a number of mailing lists.
I don't love the method of approach (I've always thought it was a scam,
fortunately she has a good sense of humour) but it's a good way to get
the staff you want.

Replying to myself: at least from an audience size point of view
debian-jobs is much more popular than debian-consultants:

http://lists.debian.org/stats/debian-jobs.png => 1350 members
http://lists.debian.org/stats/debian-consultants.png => 402 members
